Jamie

I’m fairly certain I have not had a session that was as meaningful as Jamie’s was. Jamie specifically requested Tallgrass Prairie as she has memories of her family visiting there and especially her mother, Julie. It was very important to her to include her mother in her session and I think we all felt her presence especially at the Prairie. Julie attended a one room school as a child so the Little Fox Creek School symbolized this. Jamie is a very talented drawing/painting artist but also a creative and she picked up the art of pressed flowers. All the flowers used in her session were from her mother’s memorial service this past spring. Jamie is artistic, shy and considerate. Although we attend the same church and I knew of her artistic talents, I really didn’t know Jamie very well. She is very funny, has awesome oneliners, great ideas and is so easy to talk to. Jamie enjoys Art (drawing and crochet) and plants (flower pressing). Her favorite snack is Smartfood popcorn. Favorite school subject is Art and English and she enjoys going on field trips. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys pressing flowers, crocheting, drawing, caring for her indoor plants and playing video games. Classic Rock and Indie (Aurora Aksnes) are her music choices. Future plans include something in the Fine Arts area. On Jamie’s bucket list is to go paramotoring, pet an aardvark, visit the Aardman Animations Studio (Chicken Run, Wallace and Grommit). She would also enjoy traveling to China (again), Denmark, Germany and Norway. Her superpower choice would be Flight. One thing people do not know about Jamie is that she enjoys messing around on her acoustic guitar and electric bass. Had no idea, Jamie. I also didn’t expect to laugh as much as we did. Jamie is truly funny and having Halle along just made it more so. Capturing the two of them was super special too. One very special collaboration with Jamie was coming up with the double exposure photo. Jamie chose the picture and we used a pressed flower frame and the school. I love all of this and am very humbled that I could help honor their relationship. Thanks, Jamie, for trusting me with all of it and letting me get to know you a bit better. Enjoy your senior year!

  1. Pam, this is a beautiful write-up of my niece, Jamie, and means you much to me! You have captured her essence in both your words and your photography! And the double exposure of Jamie and Julie, my sister, had me in tears. How wonderful. Keep up the beautiful, thoughtful, and artistic work work that you do. Blessings!
