My son’s senior session with Pam exceeded all of our expectations! She made him feel confident and completely at ease. Pam incorporated all of his ideas (and even had suggestions to make them better!) and the shoot was exactly what he wanted. The images captured his personality perfectly! We could not be more thrilled with the images and I will be booking Pam for sessions for my next two seniors! – Angie G.

So I did a “thing” the past couple weeks. I was told by a friend that I need to post about it…so here it is.

Late March, one of my photography Facebook groups announced a March Madness fun bracket competition and with very little thought, I decided to enter. Senior Inspire is a favorite private group of about 8k professional senior photographers. To enter, you needed to submit a Senior photo taken in 2023 or 2024. My goal was to just be chosen to compete. To my surprise, I was not only chosen but ranked #7 in my bracket by the FB Admin. Although my work and seniors have been featured several times by different social media groups, I have never entered any contests/competitions nor submitted images to be published.

Similar to basketball, you compete head to head against one other photographer. Members vote to move you forward and win your match. Keeping it real here…this is not a technical or judged competition. Photographers vote based on many reasons…what image they like the most, style, composition or the photographer. Each round we submit a new photo without knowing what the other one is submitting.

Unbelievably, I ended up winning my bracket and landed in the Final Four where I lost in the semifinals. While this has been a very affirming/humbling/fun experience, my competitive nature did kick in…And it was a bit stressful. Photographers that chose to compete are from all over the USA and many are very talented big “names” that I admire in the senior photography world. The Final Four were from OH, LA, IN and KS (me).

Thank you so much, Nick Porcaro, for allowing me to compete and those that voted for me. Special thanks to the parents who gave me permission to use their senior’s images. And HUGE shoutout to my seniors…I couldn’t have done it without them. It was incredibly hard to choose what images to submit. I will let you all know if the images are actually published.
